Guest Story: A Birthday Celebration + Carnival Jubilee Cruise Departure

Birthday guest opening gifts at White Magnolia Galveston with the courtyard photo wall glowing in the background

One of our favorite parts of hosting is getting to be a tiny part of your big moments — and this stay was exactly that. A recent guest celebrated a birthday during her time at White Magnolia Galveston, and we couldn’t let the moment pass without a little hospitality magic. ✨

When she arrived after a long drive, we had birthday boxes waiting with sweet treats (hello, Hershey Kisses), fresh flowers, cake balls, and a special birthday message to kick off the celebration in the most “vacation starts now” way.

And the timing couldn’t have been better — because the next morning, the family headed to the Port of Galveston to sail on Carnival Jubilee. One of the conveniences our cruise guests love most is that White Magnolia is located close to everything, including easy access to the port and free street parking adjacent to the home (a huge win on embarkation day).

The celebration didn’t stop at the port — it continued onboard (because birthdays + cruising are the perfect combo). 🚢 If you’re planning a cruise departure and want a comfortable, walkable “home base” before you sail, start with our Cruising From Galveston guide and make your first night part of the vacation.
